The International School Of Skating was established on the first of October 2001 Following the decision by the management of Planet Ice to allocate the figure skating discipline at the Sky Dome Arena specifically to the skating school. ISS operates entirely as an independent body to provide coaching services for the rink and is the only skating school of its kind. The title of 'International School Of Skating' was selected as it represents the coaches that started the school, who are International themselves and have much experience of coaching abroad, therefore bringing expertise and experience to the skaters they teach.

ISS is a skating school accessible to skaters of all ages and abilities who wish to learn to figure skate.The preliminary focus of the school is to make figure skating enjoyable to all, and its primary aim is to develop and manage skaters from an early age by guiding them through the beginner courses right to the highest competitive level of there skating career.
