Jenna McCorkell

 

Jenna started skating at 7 years old at the Colraine.
Originally from Nothen Ireland, at the age of 15th relocated to Coventry to take a new step in her carrier.

Amongst her achievements can be mentioned:

2002, 2003, 2004 British Senior Champion

2000-British Primary Champion

2003 Junior Grand Prix Bronze medallist. (Chemniz, Germany)

Competitor in the 2003-2004 Junior World Championships. Placed 11th in 2004.

Competitor in the 2003-2004 European Championships. Placed 14th in 2004.

Competitor in the 2003-2004 World Championships. Placed 21st in 2003.

Competitor in the 3rd Invitational Senior Grand Prix Series. Her best result achieved was place 8th at Skate Canada.

2004 "Ondrea Nepela" ISU Senior competition-silver medallist.

In 2003 started the World Performance Program under UK Lottery funding.

In 2003-04 received financial support from the International Skating Union for her achievements in 2002-03 seasons.

She has also been for many years supported by the Northern Ireland Sport Council, and off course, her family .

Winner of the Northern Ireland Sport Person of the Year Award for 2002 and 2003.

Winner of 2004 OCS Sport Award.

Was placed in 2003 amongst the top 20 UK youngest sport athletes by the Observer magazine.

Over the 2002-04 seasons, Jenna made history in the UK Ladies Figure Skating:

1st British Lady competing, on the same seasons, at the highest international events for both, Junior and Senior levels. (2002 and 2003).

1st British Lady achieving a medal at the Junior Grand Prix Series.

British Lady achieving the best results in an ISU Senior Ladies competition for the last 15th years

1st British Lady who has been invited to take part in the Senior Grand Prix Series.
