Success for Sophie Holloway from ISS MK
Posted: 31st August 2015
For many skaters this was their first event of the season, for others it provided another chance to qualify for the National Championships taking place in the same arena in December. ISS Coventry and ISS MK were well represented at the event, skating with a huge amount of passion and achieving many personal goals.
ISS Coventry
Molly Perry, Molly Stackhouse and Katerina Poulios (who skates at Guildford but is coached in ISS Coventry focusing on her programme and elements from a technical aspect), Novice B. All 3 were competing at their first event of this kind in the UK and they all skated well, and really benefitted from the experience.
Phoebe Winser, Advance Novice. Placed 5th out of 27th
Junior Ladies;
Abbie Forman placed 11th
Lowry Jones placed 14th
Bethan Whiteman placed 18th
Francesca Gibbs placed 26th after short.
Olympia Mauriki placed 28th after short.
Phil Harris, Senior Men. Phil had a new short and long programme to start the season. Phil was leading after the short and finished 2nd overall. Phil said “my long programme didn’t go as well, however its was a good practice for the start of the season”. Well done Phil!
ISS MK:
Vicky Ogden with ISS MK Skater, Megan Bulford (Left) and Sophie Holloway (Right)
Megan Bulford, Basic Novice A, Megan skated a clean programme and is currently fighting for British score.
Sophie Holloway, Basic Novice B. Skated well achieving her personal best score.
Kia Blackburn. Advance Novice. Kia was 14th place after short program and was in 2nd after long, a really good result!
Ellie Green, Junior Ladies. This was her first year competing in this category and was huge learning curve, giving her new targets to aim for the forthcoming season, onwards and upwards!
Paige Jacobs, Junior Ladies. Paige had a good skate with a personal best in her short programme, well done Paige!
Just to qualify to skate at this competition was an achievement for them all, an achievement of which they and ISS are very proud of. Well done to all who took part!
