Happy New year!!

Posted: 3rd January 2012

ISS would like to wish all our skaters, parents and associates a very happy new year!!

Its an exciting year ahead for ISS with 2012 packed with camps, competitions and new developments, and we are really looking forward to getting stuck in.

Firstly, we would like to send a huge congratulations to Philip Harris, after winning his free program and getting a bronze medal at the British in 2011 NISA has awarded him with a reserve position at the ISU European Figure Skating Championships later this month. Its a great achievement for Phil, and would like to wish him the bets of luck.

We would like to announce that our very own Vicky Ogden, has deservedly got a place as one of the professional skaters at this years ITV’s Dancing on Ice which starts on the 8th January. Vicky has been paired with Coronation Streets Andy Whyment who plays the character Kirk.

Vicky started skating at the age of six. Throughout her career Vicky has been supported by Planet Ice, Milton Keynes and competed at National and International levels for over 13 years. She performed in Art on Ice in the UK - complete with a live opera singer and Ronan Keating. She also performed in Mexico City for the City Mayor at the grand opening of one of the world's largest out door ice rinks and then went on to appear on Eurosport in the German show Ingolstadt in November 2008 and has been a regular performer in Kyran Bracken's Ice Party - but this skater is not just a performer. Vicky is a co-director of IceAct, a company who has produced many shows in the UK, as well as being a co-director at the International School of Skating, Milton Keynes. Vicky appeared with Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean’s Dancing on Ice Tour in April 2008 but this year will mark Vicky’s debut on the live shows. Keep up to date with their progress on the ITV website - click here!

We would like to wish her the best of luck, we will all be watching... And voting!!

This year we have a full diary of master classes and camps across the country being held at Silver Blades and Planet Ice, camps will be lead by Yuri Bureiko and supported by his ISS team including Vicky Ogden. We will hopefully be releasing additional dates soon, so please check the website regularly. There are still places available so please check our events sections and get in contact with Michelle Backhouse to book your place.
