International Competition

Posted: 17th October 2017

Last week, 11th-15th October, saw skaters travel to Nice to compete at the 22nd International Cup of Nice 2017

The annual competition saw skaters from around the World compete at the International Competition with ISS Coventry well represented at the event.

ISS Coventry had the most entries at the event than any other rink in the UK with competitors across multiple categories and 3 of their coaches at the event.

Senior Men’s category was represented by Philip Harris and coach Yuri Bureyko and Harry Mattick and coach Richard Beamish. It was Philip’s First International for almost a year after injury struggles and came away with a PB, he was 5th after the short, 6th after the free and 7th over all with a final score of 208.97 which was a personal best. Harry finished 17th in the category with a score of 144.94. Both Phil and Harry did great in a tough category.

Representing Senior Pairs for ISS Coventry was Zoe Jones and Christopher Boyadji with their coach Alexander Markuntsov, They finished 4th overall with a score of 147.13 which was up from their previous competition. The pair recently competed at The Nebelhorn Trophy with a score of 142.54 at the event, which put them in 14th place in the overall rankings.

Well done to all of those involved, you made ISS proud – Great job guys!
