Oxford Open round up

We hope all our lovely ISS skaters, parents and coaches all had a good start to 2016!

The Oxford IJS was a good way to kick the year off for many. Skaters from both ISS Coventry and ISS Milton Keynes competed at the event representing all ages and levels.

Competing for ISS Coventry were Lauren Shirlaw in level 7 ladies, Mia Bench in level 2 ladies, and in level 4 ladies Evie Lewis, Molly Hibbert and Louisa Wootton. Many congratulations to Jacob Casey who won level 1 in the men’s category.

Frederick Wilkin won level 2 men’s with a PB and Heather Foster, competed at beginner level and achieved the score to move up to the next level as well as scoring a PB.

Some reached their goals of achieving new elements correctly and some were competing at a new level for the first time. Well done to all at ISS Coventry!

Competing for ISS Milton Keynes were Ellie Green who came away with a second place despite her injury. Megan Bulford performed a great routine and demonstrated a much improved performance. Paige Jacobs competed in level 9 ladies short program and earned 2nd place, Kenice Chan earned a 3rd place at level 5, Sophie Holloway, Level 7, Leire Martin Del Cano also skated in her first competition at NISA level 1, Ashley L'Homme NISA level 4. Competing at Beginner Ladies age 9 & under was Kizzy Portlock and Beginner Ladies age 10 & 11 Ashley Webb and Eloise Cacioppo, Eloise was able to pass her level 1 competitive test  – Good job and well done ladies!

Some of our youngest skaters aged 6-7 years from ISS MK were first time competitors Grace Langridge, Maisie Barnett and Lucy Ahearne took to the ice and all reached personal goals, their coach Vicky Ogden was extremely proud of them all and is keen for them to compete in many more competitions. Well done ladies
