Sad Loss for the Figure Skating World

Posted: 28th October 2016

The international School of Skating are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Edouard Pliner.

Edouard was School Director, Yuri Bureiko’s former coach and played an extremely important part in Yuri’s career.

Yuri, School Director said:

"Such sad news a true legend Euard Georgievich Pliner, was not just my former coach and friend he was my inspiration and has taught me so much throughout my career. We’ve shared so many great memories and moments, your energy and knowledge will continue to inspire me for the rest of my life. You meant so much and will stay in my heart and the heart of my students. You’re work will live on. RIP our our love."

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and the Colonial skating community during this difficult time.

A memorial fund has been set up and details can be found here - memorial/scholarship
