Coventry Figure Skating club pull together for charity!
Posted: 16th May 2012
Coventry skaters recently took part in the Coventry Walkathon. Hundreds converged on the city’s premier park to walk, jog or run laps and generate cash for a wide variety of local and national good causes.
The Coventry Figure Skating Club took the biggest team prize after entering 40 members in fancy dress.
John Leon, club chairman, said: “The Walkathon is great because it’s about raising money for charity. We’re here for the day, we’ve brought a picnic.”
Sponsorship funds raised by the group will be split between the club and The Dorothy Goodman School in Hinckley for autistic children.
